May 3, 1967 (Wed.) The 6th Presidential Election
In the 6th presidential election, the vote-by-mail system was first introduced for overseas Koreans according to the Presidential Election Act which was amended before the election on December 14, 1966. The opposition parties failed to nominate a single candidate and thus six candidates from each party were nominated: Yoon, Bo-sun (New People’s Party), Suh, Min-ho (Social Public Party), Jun, Jin-han (Korean Resistance Party), Kim, Joon-yeon (Populist Party), Oh, Jae-young (United Korea Party) and Lee, Se-jin (Justice Party).
